There's a few things to do before you work with children at Dubbo Presbyterian Church to (1) help us create an environment where children are safe and (2) meet our legal requirements.
The first 3 steps can be done in any order.
If you have any questions just email email@example.com and one of our wwc team will get back to you.
We offer “Breaking the Silence” Basic Training at DPC every 1-2 years. The last training was offered in 2020. Details of the next training will be posted here when they become available. If you attended the training we will have a record of your attendance.
In the interim, the Presbyterian Church of NSW offers online training.
It is a series of 7 modules (ranging from 5 min to 15 min in length) followed by an online quiz. After you complete the quiz you will be sent an email. Please forward this to firstname.lastname@example.org
A working with children number (WWC) is supplied by the NSW government. If you already have a WWC number from a previous church or employer you can use the same number.
If you do not have a number, Click on the button below to go to the NSW Government WWC application page.
Under "Purpose for check" enter "Volunteer"
Under "Sector" select "Religious Services"
After you fill in the online form you will be emailed a receipt. You need to take identification (e.g. licence) and the ‘New application Reciept’ to a Motor Registry Office in person, and then your WWC number will be emailed to you.
We have a generic job description to cover all ministries at DPC. The job description is available here. If you are unsure about anything in the job description talk to the person who is supervising the ministry that you are involved in.
Where it says "Position or Role" select "Other" and type in "DPC Children's Ministry"
