Introduction
This Privacy Policy explains how the Next Steps app ("the App") collects, stores, and uses information.
The App is designed to connect to a user's ChurchSuite account and provide access to people, attendance records, notes, and other ministry-related information. All data flows directly between the user's device and ChurchSuite. No data passes through any server operated by the developer. The App does not collect or store user data outside the user's device and ChurchSuite account.
Information Accessed
When you sign in to ChurchSuite through the App, the App may access information available to your ChurchSuite account, including:
Names
Contact details
Attendance records
Notes
Key dates
Tags and groups
Other information available through ChurchSuite APIs that your account is authorized to access
The App only accesses information that your ChurchSuite account already has permission to view.
Authentication Information
To provide a convenient sign-in experience, the App stores authentication information on your device. This may include:
ChurchSuite authentication tokens
Session credentials required to maintain access
Sensitive authentication information is stored using Apple's Keychain services. Authentication information is not transmitted to the App developer and is not stored on any external servers operated by the developer.
Data Stored on Your Device
The App may store information locally on your device, including:
Authentication credentials
User preferences and settings
Lists marked as completed
Cached ChurchSuite data
This data is stored solely to improve performance and usability.
Sending Information to ChurchSuite
The App may create or update information within ChurchSuite on your behalf, including:
Notes
Key dates
Other records that you explicitly choose to submit
Information is only sent to ChurchSuite when initiated by the user.
Apple Contacts Integration
The App may allow you to save contact information from ChurchSuite into Apple's Contacts application. When you choose to use this feature:
Contact information selected by you is copied into Apple Contacts.
The App only accesses Contacts with your explicit permission.
Once information has been saved to Apple Contacts, it becomes subject to Apple's Contacts privacy and security controls.
The App does not monitor or control how information is used after it has been saved to Apple Contacts.
Data Sharing
The App does not sell, rent, or share personal information with third parties. Information is exchanged only between:
Your device
ChurchSuite
Apple's Contacts application (when you choose to save a contact)
The developer does not operate a separate database containing ChurchSuite data.
Data Security
Reasonable measures are taken to protect information stored on the device, including use of Apple's security technologies such as Keychain storage where appropriate. However, no method of electronic storage or transmission can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
Your Responsibilities
Users are responsible for:
Maintaining the security of their device
Protecting access to their ChurchSuite account
Ensuring they have appropriate authorisation to access and handle personal information within ChurchSuite
Organisations using the App remain responsible for complying with applicable privacy laws and safeguarding personal information.
Third-Party Services
The App relies on third-party services, including:
ChurchSuite
Apple Contacts
Apple's Keychain security services
Use of those services is governed by their respective privacy policies and terms.
Children's Privacy
The App is not directed toward children and does not knowingly collect information from children independently of information already stored within ChurchSuite by authorised organisations.
